The news of cricketer-turned-politician Navjyot Singh Sidhu to quit The Kapil Sharma Show owing to his political career took the internet by storm. While there was no confirmation from the cricketer's side, the Chief Minister of Punjab, Captain Amarinder Singh went on record and said, "We will have to ask our Advocate General to give us an opinion... whether a person who is a minister can do what he wants to do. It will depend entirely on what legal position is." Sidhu earlier wished to continue to work in The Kapil Sharma Show even after becoming a Minister in the state.
While talking to the media, Navjyot finally spoke about the rumours. He said, "I have left 70 to 80 per cent of work in television entertainment industry... I do office work from 9 am to 6 pm... What I do at night is nobody's business."
However, Sidhu did not speak against Punjab chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh on the issue. When asked about the newly-formed Punjab government, seeking legal counsel on whether he can continue working in the entertainment industry as an office holder, Sidhu said, "Whatever Amarinder Singh says on this matter is right. Boss is always right." Meanwhile, Capt Amarinder Singh has said that he will seek legal opinion, after Sidhu made it clear that he will continue his role as a celebrity-judge. "We will have to ask our advocate general to give us an opinion... whether a person who is a minister can do what he wants to do. It will depend entirely on what legal position is," the Punjab chief minister said. Meanwhile, Sidhu's wife and former state legislator Navjot Kaur Sidhu took to facebook to support her husband. She wrote, "Such hype has been created about Navjot earning a living from television... We have no other business or source of income except television. He has left 80 per cent of shows, which included IPL, commentary, etc."
Meanwhile, The Kapil Sharma Show has found itself in big trouble after the Big Fight between Kapil and Sunil Grover. Apparently, now joining Sunil are Ali Asgar and Chandan Prabhakar, who have decided to boycott the show. It all happened when Kapil and Sunil along with the TKSS team were flying back from their Australia tour on Thursday night with the former losing his calm out of nowhere. Allegedly, an intoxicated Kapil suddenly walked up to Sunil’s seat and started hurling abuses at him and even went on to call him by names like “Tu mera naukar hai, tere show flop tha” (You are my servant, your show was a flop). However, the verbal abuses transformed into a physical assault when the 35-year-old comedy show host held Sunil by his collar and is even said to have raised his hand to him. The sordid drama only stopped when the airline crew intervened and calmed the Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon star. Though Sunil maintained his cool and kept quiet, the brawl was loud enough to get the attention of their co-passengers. Reportedly, the 39-year-old actor looked embarrassed and even apologised to his flight mates for the inconvenience.
Well, we hope the noise around TKSS finally stops soon.
