Rajasthan University paper leak: Jaipur coaching centre owner arrested

JAIPUR: The Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Rajasthan police on Sunday arrested the director of a city-based commerce coaching center for his alleged involvement in the Rajasthan University (RU) question paper leak scam.

Atishya Jain, who owns the Lekha Coaching Centre in Gopalura, has been accused of providing RU's leaked BCom Part III question papers to his students.

"Earlier on Monday, we had arrested C P Sindhi, who ran a coaching center in Bandikui. We quizzed Sindhi and his students and learned that one Atishya Jain was also in possession of two question papers from the commerce stream," a senior SOG official told TOI.

Jain was called for questioning on Saturday and was arrested by the sleuths of the SOG on Sunday under various sections of the Rajasthan Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act of 1992.

The SOG has arrested total of 19 persons in the case so far, including senior professors and teachers of Rajasthan and Bikaner universities and their affiliated colleges. "Jain had received these questions papers on his WhatsApp several days before the examination. He had stored them on his mobile phones and computers. After verifying the samples and the question paper, it became clear that both were the same," the SOG official told TOI.

The investigation team that they were trying to find out who supplied the question papers to the accused. "An investigation is on to check if there is a money trail involved in the case," a senior official told TOI.



The SOG had blown the lid off the scam on April 17 and arrested senior RU teachers, including head of the geography department, J P Jat, and officials of the examination secrecy cell. Since Monday, 19 arrests have been made and sleuths are probing for the money trail in the case.
