Most Expensive Cars in the World: Top 5

5. Bugatti Chiron ($2.6 million)

Launched in February 2016 (and rumors dating from Dec 2015), the Bugatti Chiron was designed to be the most powerful, fastest and one of the most expensive car in the world. It has a 1500 hp engine which can propel the car from 0-62 mph in just 2.5 seconds. It is widely recognized that it can top 270 mph, but some argue that it can even reach 280+ mph. We will need to see a confirmed speed run, but at the moment, we think that it should credibly take the top spot of this list. Only 500 units will be produced, and at $2.6M each, it is also the fastest car in the world.

4. Lykan Hypersport ($3.4 million)

Lykan Hypersport has a futuristic look with a combination of speed and pure power. It is produced in the UAE (United Arab Emirates) and it is also the first car to be both designed and produced in UAE. It has a twin-turbocharged Flat-six engine producing 740hp and can go from 0 to 100km/h in 2.8 seconds with a top speed of 240mph.
It is a limited car with just 7 units built, and one of them has been purchased by Abu Dhabi police for patrolling. What makes it so expensive is the use of jewels in its making. It has titanium LED blades with 420 15 cts diamonds and the purchaser can embed jewels in the headlights on demand, including yellow diamonds, rubies, and sapphires. Here is a video:

3. Lamborghini Veneno ($4.5 million)

How can there be a most expensive cars list without a Lamborghini in it? The Lamborghini Veneno looks completely out of this world with a design similar to Sci-fi movies aircrafts. Only 9 of them went into production and all got sold even before the official release.
With an astounding design, it can top a speed of 350 km/h. It has a 740hp engine which is capable of reaching 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds.

2. Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita ($4.8 million)

The Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita might not be the coolest-looking or fastest in this list, but it still deserves the 2nd spot. Why? because its finish is literally made with diamonds! Koenigsegg has created a finish with carbon fibers and diamond dust impregnated resin, called Koenigsegg “Proprietary Diamond Weave”.
Along with the fancy diamond finishing, it is also great when it comes to speed and power: it has dual-supercharged V8 engine with 1,004 hp with a top speed of 254 mph. Here is a video review of it

1. Maybach Exelero ($8.0M)

The Maybach Exelero is actually a custom-made car at the request of Fulda Tires. It was created for the advertisement of new wide tires. The car was manufactured in 2004, and the rapper Birdman bought it in 2011 for $8.0M.
It has a 700-hp, twin-turbo V12 engine under the hood and can reach the top speed of 218 mph. It’s a luxurious car, so speed isn’t the the main focus. The rapper Jay-Z also featured this car in its music video “Lost One”.
